Iditarod Live: The Sled Blog : Day 5: Lanier’s gold: a dog for him or bling for her? | adn.com.
How are dudes (and dudettes) doin?
Jim Lanier has fallen off the lead after taking the $3,000 in gold nuggets offered for being the first musher to the halfway point. He is taking it easy and figuring out how to spend the loot – a new lead dog or some bling for his wife. Tough choice!
Matt Failor: holding steady at the back of the pack in Ophir. Ah! And, I see that Matt is working with 4 time iditarod champion, Martin Buser.
Seeing Double Sisters: Kristy Berington and Anna Berington: 49 and 50th place out of Ophir and completed the 24 hour layover.
Dan Seavey: Has got the iditarod’s 6. His son and grandson are rockin way up front. I hope that he is relaxed and breathing easy back there. I hope he is enjoying the ride and teaching us all a lesson in life. Perhaps you can meet him on a dog sled tour at his place near Seward
