Climbing is my passion!
I learn so much about nature and myself while
I am climbing. I have rock climbed since '92 at Smith Rock, Yosemite,
Joshua Tree, Hatcher Pass, in the Chugach mountains and in the Wrangell
mountains. I lead up to 5.9 traditional and sport routes. I have ice climbed
since '94 all over the Chugach Range and twice in Valdez; this year at
the 1999 Valdez Ice Climbing Festival
I got second place in
the Women's Dry Tooling Competition. I lead WI3.
I began mountaineering in 1993 in Oregon, I have climbed peaks in the
Sierra-Nevada Range, Cascade Range, Wrangell Mountains, Chugach Range,
Alaska Range, also I have trekked in the Himalayan Mountains. My big mountain
experience is Mt. Blackburn attempt 1995 and 1996, Little Switzerland
tour 1997, 3d Guide on Denali Traverse 1997, White Princess 1998. I have
been a guide since 1992, guiding rivers, back packing, glacier hiking
and mountaineering.
I am going back to Denali because I want to climb it with my women friends.
We are doing the Muldrow so we are not just following the trail that occurs
on the West Buttress. I want to make group decisions of route finding,
self sufficiency, snow conditions, safety and
health.
I want to have fun out there with out having to prove myself as a guide.
I also look forward to the inner discoveries that await me. As leader
of this expedition I hope to give encouragement, and sound
guidance. I descended the Muldrow on my last Denali expedition, I hope
that experience helps this trip to be successful and fun!
